The inhibitory behavior of organic extract for carbon steel (CS) in a HCl solution was ex-plored. The extract structures were studied by FT-IR analysis related to UV-Vis spectros-copy. The corrosion studies were examined using electrochemical techniques of impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and potentiodynamic polarization, weight loss at different temperatures (20, 30, 40 and 50 °C) and differing concentrations extract. To confirm the experiments, detailed theoretical studies were used. The EIS test showed maximum inhibition efficacy of 80% for 800 mg /L of the extract. The results of potentiodynamic polarization demonstrated that corrosion of steel occurred under the control of anodic and cathode reactions. Weight loss analysis showed a 99% inhibition efficacy for the acid solution containing 800 mg / L extract by increasing the temperature of the solution, steel resistance against corrosion decreased and yields of 79, 76, 71 and 69% were 20, 30, 40 and 50 °C , respectively. The study of adsorption isotherms showed that the adsorption of extract molecules was in the lineage of the Langmuir isotherm.
